             ELC LLC is offering its 1-month (total 8 –day or 16 hours) accelerated training of Legal English commencing from 9th of February, 2010. Fees are 80,000 togrogs.  

             Participants should meet following requirements:

 

·         Having university level legal education;

 

·         Having upper intermediate level of English;

 

·         Having time for homework, and possibility to make at least 20 pages or 20 hours translation.

            Training will be conducted between 18.30-20 hours on Tuesday and Thursday at the Law School of the Mongolian National University.

            The purpose of the training is to allow the attendants to learn to understand, read and write Legal English.

LAW OF MONGOLIA ON

MAKING PAYMENTS AND SETTLEMENTS IN NATIONAL CURRENCY

09 July 2009, the State Palace, Ulaanbaatar

CHAPTER ONE

GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1.         Purpose of the Law

1.1       The purpose of this Law is to regulate relations with respect to expressing prices of goods, works and services and making payments and settlements in national currency on the territory of Mongolia.        

Article 2.         Laws and regulations on making payments and settlements in national currency

2.1       Laws and regulations on making payments and settlements in national currency shall consist of the Constitution of Mongolia, the Law on Central Bank /Mongolbank/, the Law on Currency Regulations, this Law and other laws, regulations and acts which were adopted in line with them.

           2.2        If an international treaty to which Mongolia is a Party is inconsistent with this Law, then the

                        provisions of the international treaty shall prevail.

                 Bayar Budragchaa, - Managing Director of the Company, has law degrees (LLB) from St. Petersburg University of Ministry of Interior, Russia in 1985 and Master of Laws (LLM) from University of Auckland, New Zealand in 1997. In addition to his 10 years of law enforcement experience, Bayar has worked for 9 years as independent counselor/consultant for several foreign and international organizations, business entities and NGOs.

                Mrs. Taivan Natsagdorj, - is a Senior Associate of the Company is skilled lawyer with 20 years of experience. She served in number of key legal posts including Senior Prosecutor at the Prosecutor General's Office of Mongolia.

                The Company currently employs young associate lawyers and paralegals, and in addition has a roster of part-time partners, - private lawyers, consultants, researchers and clerical staff who have extensive experiences in their respective areas of expertise.
